The home you live in/ or some one you know… this is the most common place for ghosts to haunt.
The great thing about Tasmania is there are hundreds of places to visit; we have a great selection of ruins, old prisons, hospitals, theatres, pubs and plenty of historical buildings. A person ghost finding this is an investigators dream; there are places of great opportunities in hopefully capturing ghosts.
What if you want to investigate your own home or the place you live in, where would be the best area to film or take photos, below is a list with possible areas of hauntings and ghostly sightings within your house.
Hallways, this area is what we call a traffic area, an area use a lot in its day and today. A lot of spirits use traffic areas especially the residual kind.

Manifestations
So what is a manifestation, in basic terms voices and sounds, sightings and physical connections. Manifestations can be heard by the naked ear and seen with the naked eye. This happens more regular than you think; this is a part of the supernatural that remains some what mysterious. We have good but basic idea of majority of manifestations and most investigators love the challenge of trying to come with a logical explanation for what they have witnessed…. There are plenty of counters to say that it’s all in the mind, but on some rare cases multiple witnesses and some by level headed people. Manifestations do go by other names like appearing,
What are the manifestations one can hear?
There are all kinds of sounds and voices one can hear… if they are opened minded enough and here is a list of what we have encountered and what been captured around this mysterious planet.
Non Vocal – Footsteps, Banging’s, Tapping, Creaking, Thumps, Scratching, Furniture and other objects moving,
Vocal – Screams, Singing, Yells, Mummers, Whispers, Conversations, Name calling, Pleading, Crying, and Calling for a loved one, even spirits introducing themselves.
What are the manifestations can one see?
There are rare times that one will witness manifestations happening in front of them, some will pass this off as a figment of their imagination.
What you will witness is – Objects moving, the appearance of apparitions, Forming mists, Chairs rocking, Doors opening and closing, Finger or hand prints on painted surfaces or windows, Curtains moving, pretty much anything you can see with the naked eye moving by itself.
Animals & Children and their connection to the ghostly world
It seems the most receptive to the spirit world are children and animals; children seem to have an uncanny ability to communicate with ghosts. We are trying to put together logical reason for why spirits are seen by children and animals; we haven’t had the chance of investigating something of this magnitude. But with children it has to do with how open their minds are to things around them and with animals it has to do with their uncanny ability to predict things and see things will never will.
Children
Does your child talk to thin air; have they got an imaginary friend that has mysteriously appeared to them? Do they ever mention a loved one who has passed and tell you that “Nanna’s here?” and as adult we just look at this as in the child’s mind and it’s sweet to have an imaginary friend or having a tea party with no one there but they act as if someone is there. This is something parents should not over look, especially if they tell you in detail about their friend… they maybe talking a ghost?
Animals
It seems that Cats and Dogs have this strange supernatural ability of the mind, they seem to know when something is about to happen, or when your coming home… ever find them (cats) most times on the steps waiting for you or (dogs) waiting a gate for you? They seem to know when you’re going to feed them or take them for a walk even before you do, we don’t know exactly how they know when we come home or do something that involves them, but they do.
Have you had your cat or dog close to you and for no reason act very strange, maybe starring intently at nothing or getting aggressive or protective of you even though nothing you can is about.
I have lived with animals my whole life and have a huge respect for them, I had a German Shepard who was the most placid dog I have ever owned but when the resident spirit in the house would make herself known, my dog would slowly pace in front of my legs or dart behind them… but after a few encounters with the ghost the dog became excepting and would wag her tail when the spirit was present. My cats don’t really care two ways about the spirit, but they do care about the ghostly cat that resides in the home. We believe it was my flat mate’s cat that was run over a few years back, my cats ears prick up, eyes stare with directly but after a moment or two they go back to sleep or whatever they were doing before.
Some animals fearing for their safety or their owners will raise their hackles and become slightly aggressive towards what we cannot see, never discipline the animal for it… it could be a warning for someone in the home.
The myth’s about ghosts
Forget what you see on t.v, a lot of it is false and misleading, anyone seen Most Haunted… this show is one of the prime leaders of bring false information to its viewers… it seems they encounter spirits every investigation and each encounter is truly terrifying, the honest truth is that activity never happens that often. I don’t know any ghost finders that have active investigations every time, and encounter the amount of spirits that they do. Most Haunted always show them communicating with ghosts through knocks…. This doesn’t happen every single time…. It may only happen once out of a hundred if it does, we have had it happen to us… the odd case, but it doesn’t happen that direct or clear or in quickness. So here is our list of our broken myths, you may or may not agree with them and we ask that you use your own mind to decide.
Ghosts will not always be in your face, a lot are watching and waiting for that right moment to appear or be heard. A spirit has to be comfortable with you before it wants to communicate, though if a spirit doesn’t like you… you will know.
The living and the departed a common factor….RESPECT, we have noticed that if you enter a place that has a ghost, show respect to the place and its restless residence, don’t be confrontational or sarcastic… and never bag the ghost as ghosts hate being teased or tormented with discontent.
Never be forceful in trying to communicate, it will only decrease your chance in communications…. Would you respond to someone being aggressive towards you, there is two out comes with this. One is the spirit will retreat and refuse to be noticed, the second is it may cause the spirit to react violently, nothing is worst that a pissed off ghosts.
